Look Out for this New Collection of U.S. Folk Rock from Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and More

Rare tracks by Johnny Winter, David Blue and Jesse Lee Kincaid make their CD debut

U.K. reissue specialists Cherry Red, known for their meticulous collections has prepared a collection celebrating the U.S. folk rock movement titled Jingle Jangle Morning: The 1960s Folk-Rock Explosion.

Arriving on March 21, 2025, it includes 74 tracks across three CDs from the company’s Strawberry imprint. It’s available for pre-order in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here. The collection features recordings from such stars as Bob Dylan, the Byrds (whose recording of Dylan’s “Mr. Tambourine Man” includes the lyric in which this title is named), the Lovin’ Spoonful, the Mamas & the Papas, Buffalo Springfield, and Linda Ronstadt.

The company says that it is the most thorough compilation that has ever been assembled of a major movement that transformed popular music, including hits, rarities, and deep cuts from a huge spectrum of artists.

Rare tracks by Johnny Winter, David Blue and Jesse Lee Kincaid make their CD debut; along with seldom-reissued original 45 versions of songs by Phil Ochs and Tom Rush.

The collection features little-known covers of songs by Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and Clarence White alongside favorites by Judy Collins, Dion, Scott McKenzie, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and others.
