London duo Babeheaven — vocalist Nancy Andersen and producer/multi-instrumentalist Jamie Travis — return with “Beloved,” their first new release in nearly four years. Out via Scenic Route, the single is a quiet, deeply personal reintroduction, shaped by stillness, self-reflection, and a renewed connection to their core sound.
Written and recorded mostly at home, “Beloved” began as a solo demo, Nancy’s first time writing and producing entirely on her own. Sparse and intimate, it blends acoustic guitar, Wurlitzer, and Mellotron into a meditative reflection on love, grief, and presence. “’Beloved’ is kind of a myth, a person, a place, a feeling, someone who’s gone but still present. She carries you, rocks you like a boat, combs your hair. She’s the passage of time,” Nancy says. Jamie later added bass and drums, completing the track in Nancy’s attic studio. “Just the two of us in a small room, like when we first started. It came together quickly and naturally.”
Since their 2016 debut Friday Sky, Babeheaven have built a devoted following with their two acclaimed albums — Home For Now and Sink Into Me — earning over 65 million Spotify streams, strong critical support and praise.
Following burnout, cancelled tours, and time away from music, Beloved is a soft reset, a gentle step forward, and the start of a new chapter.
