Leo Lauren Releases Dark Glitter Goth Pop Debut EP ‘Supernormal’

Omniverse songwriter & visual artist Leo Lauren has released his debut EP, Supernormal, available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. It was produced by Heather Liz Baker, music director for Chappell Roan and guitarist for Miley Cyrus and Olivia Rodrigo, and features bass and guitar by Baker as well as drums by Jarrod Fletcher Alexander of My Chemical Romance.

Supernormal is a cry from the couch—restless, romantic, and a little bit holy. Set in the twilight zone between who we are and who we pretend to be, the EP hums with magical realism beneath the buzz of office lights, where longing becomes its own kind of power. These songs live in the traffic jam, in the couch impression, in the fantasy of disappearing—or drifting away. It’s dissociation as resistance, fantasy as survival.

In the video for the title track & lead single, Lauren is trapped in a living room purgatory, learning how to be human through movement—wearing a handmade, Frankensteinian costume that speaks to the bondage of normalcy. The entire video’s world was physically constructed by Lauren in collaboration with other artists, who together built the set, props, and costuming by hand. It’s a surreal pop trip through the cracks in everyday life, where disappointment curdles into daydream and boredom dances its way into oblivion.

A series of limited virtual collectible artworks will be released alongside the EP, expanding the Supernormal universe beyond music into visual mythology.

Like a ghost between worlds, Leo Lauren roams from visual art to music, sci-fi surrealist videos, performance, and virtual reality in his hand-stitched outfits. His art and music collapse histories and pastiche genres into distinctly gothic, glittery, pop mutations, creating a unique sonic character. In Leo Lauren’s supernormal omniverse, turmoil, longing, love, fear, and fantasy collide to take on strange and exciting shapes and sounds.
