Jake Thistle Captures Duality of Darkness and Light in New Single “Alone, Together”

New Jersey singer/songwriter Jake Thistle has shared his evocative new single, “Alone, Together,” available on all DSPs worldwide. Produced by acclaimed hitmaker Butch Walker (Green Day, Taylor Swift, P!NK, Fall Out Boy), the track reflects Thistle’s signature blend of classic ’70s and ’80s soft rock influences with a modern pop undertone, delivering a timeless yet fresh sound.

The inspiration behind “Alone, Together” comes from Thistle’s everyday surroundings, rooted in both personal reflection and striking imagery. “The original seed for Alone, Together comes from an ever-repeating ride I make on the New Jersey Turnpike,” he says. “On a certain stretch, there’s a post-apocalyptic looking scene of billowing power plants to one side, and the shining Manhattan skyline on the other. I am often struck by the contrast of industrialized harshness vs beauty in such close proximity. Two worlds that stand alone, yet together joined by this road. That idea, bolstered by the repeated travels on this road to play gigs, go to classes, and see loved ones and friends represented the lyrical foundation of ‘Alone, Together’.”

The track marks the second released collaboration between Thistle and Walker, with more on the way this winter.

Thistle has long been recognized for his lyricism and musical storytelling – qualities that have earned him multiple awards from Indie Boulevard and the title of “Rising Music Star” by The Boston Herald. .

With “Alone, Together,” Jake Thistle offers a track that encapsulates both the intimate storytelling and broad resonance that have defined his career so far. The single stands as a moving reflection of contrast, connection, and the in-between spaces that shape our lives.
