Indie Rock Quartet The Ultra Violets Release In-Your-Face New Single “HONEYPIE”

Cornwall-based indie rock quartet The Ultra Violets released their new single “HONEYPIE,” an aggressive wakeup call to the dark side and addictive nature of social media. Recorded and mastered with Ross Rothero-Bourge and the band’s Perran Nicholls at The Cube in Cornwall, it urges people to stop turning a blind eye to the atrocities we see on our phones in favor of the superficial ‘sweet stuff.’

On the track’s subject matter the band explain, “The song is essentially about people only wanting the sweet stuff in life, and sugar coating anything and everything that may be a difficult subject. We live in a society where social media is treated like the Holy Bible, simultaneously releasing dopamine hits, a highly addictive drug, when posting pictures for ‘instant gratification’.

“It seems there’s a lot of wrong in the world right now, but let’s all turn a blind eye and keep posting our best lives, sugarcoating the stark contrast of the disarray. But in reality, you can hear the ‘sirens of hate before the day is dawning’ waking you as it simmers through the cracks of your windows in the morning.”

Formed in 2020, The Ultra Violets expertly fuse indie, rock, pop and soul to form an effortlessly cool, unique sound that is wholly their own. Known for their vibrant performances, the band have been awarded slots at some of the UK’s most renowned festivals, including Boardmasters, Y Not? and Isle of Wight. They’ve also supported artists such as The Libertines, McFly, The Lottery Winners, The Pigeon Detectives, Space, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Red Rum Club and Feeder.
