Indie Pop Singer Tygermylk Shares Poignant & Powerful New Single “Babe III”

Written in response to grief, “Babe III” bottles the sweetest moments of TYGERMYLK’s childhood. Releasing it on their fathers birthday, “Babe III” is a touching and tender keepsake, preserving the precious memories of those who are no longer with us.

Sharing more they explained: ‘One summer while staying at my grandparents’ house as a child, we unexpectedly found a stray piglet wandering in the road. ‘Babe’ was my favourite film and I had begged for a piglet for my birthday that year. My grandpa was always playing practical jokes and committed to the bit to the very end, so we will never know if he somehow orchestrated the piglet’s appearance or it was just a random coincidence and gift from the universe. They never made a third Babe movie but we lived it!

What began as a surreal moment became a song about grief, lineage and holding on to joyful memories when the weight of loss feels all too heavy. The first verse recalls caring for my grandpa in his final daysThat time left me feeling incredibly close to him, as though our connection carried on beyond his passing. My dad, his son, was so proud to sing backing vocals on this track. I am endlessly grateful that I asked him because just a few months later, out of nowhere, we tragically lost him too. So it’s now become a sonic artefact of that arm of my family as well as a time capsule of that summer.’

Tygermylk’s upcoming debut album ‘Local Girl, Always Tired’, will be arriving later this year. Ten years in the making, it looks to be a powerful coming of age record, shaped by their life experiences, grief, resilience and tireless advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights and disability inclusion. This new chapter marks a bold return to music after undergoing multiple throat surgeries and a battle with chronic illness. You can expect dreamy vocals, indie pop earworms and nostalgic guitars, all underpinned with courageous honesty.
