Hayley Williams Surprised Fans with 17 New Songs via Secret Password‑Protected Website

Paramore’s lead singer, Hayley Williams, surprised fans on July 28, 2025, by launching a cryptic website filled with 17 brand‑new solo tracks, all accessible only to users who entered a special password. These codes were exclusively sent to customers who purchased her marigold hair dye called “Ego” from her Good Dye Young brand.

Fans who signed up for Good Dye Young’s newsletter received access codes to visit a retro, early‑2000s styled website resembling an old Windows desktop, complete with mp3 files over a tiled image of her dog, Alf. Inside were folders containing the songs and a “Misc.” section offering bonus content like lyric sketches, concert photos, mock merch, and even a child’s voice note saying, “I’m sorry that you’re going through something hard.”

Track Highlights & Launch Strategy

The 17 standalone tracks—including “True Believer,” “Discovery Channel,” “Mirtazapine,” “Glum,” and “Brotherly Hate”—were written, performed, and produced by Williams and Daniel James, with contributions from touring Paramore members Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard, and Jim‑E Stack. One standout, “True Believer,” tackles religion and politics in the South and has garnered significant attention.

Williams pulled the tracks from the site approximately 24 hours later, leaving behind a brief message that simply said, “Thank you for listening.” The songs officially hit streaming platforms on August 1, 2025, each treated as separate singles (not part of a cohesive album), complete with unique artwork.

Williams made a surprise appearance at the Newport Folk Festival in late July to debut “Mirtazapine”, a raw and personal track reflecting mental health struggles. This recording had also aired on Nashville’s WNXP and was featured in her promotional video for Good Dye Young.

This unconventional rollout marks a bold chapter in Hayley Williams’s solo career—one that merges music, performance art, and fan engagement. It builds on her 2025 collaboration with Moses Sumney and her earlier solo albums Petals for Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases / Descansos (2021), while extending her independent trajectory through her newly founded label Post Atlantic and distribution via Secretly Distribution.
