Hardcore Punk Torchbearers Mugger Unleash Monstrous New Single “Want the World”

Hardcore punk torchbearers Mugger have unleashed their monstrous new single “Want the World” off their one-sided 12″ EP of the same name, via Quiet Panic.

Built on themes of power, inclusion, and collective spirit, the four-song EP captures the band’s signature blend of ’77 punk grit and blown-out hardcore energy, while pushing their message into sharper focus.

Vocalist Anna Troxell reflects on the single and its meaning:

“I wanted to write a song to remind myself that I’m only limited by my own lack of imagination. There was a time that I thought success and fulfillment could only look one certain way, and it’s been so freeing to realize I get to define those things on my own terms. I wasn’t sure that I would make it to 43, but since I’m here – I want the world.”

Formed by vocalist Anna Troxell, guitarist Daniel Fried, bassist Lisa Alley, and drummer Patrick Troxell, Mugger deliver old-school hardcore grit through a fiercely inclusive perspective, carving out space for everyone in the scene.

Despite forming only recently, the Austin-based four-piece has already become one of the most vital new voices in Texas’ thriving underground. Featuring members of Creepoid, Radioactivity, and The Well, they’ve shared stages with Scowl, End It, Show Me the Body, Circle Jerks, and Gel.
