Guitar Maestro Rex & The Rhythm Has Dropped Off Sultry New Single “Without You”

Barbados bred, Los Angeles based multi-platinum artist and guitar maestro, Rex & The Rhythm has dropped off his sultry new single “Without You.”

Fueled by heartbreak and a headline, Rex & The Rhythm’s “Without You” turns emotional chaos into a full-bodied, velvet-drenched groove. After stumbling across a rumored Anderson .Paak breakup (unverified, but perfectly timed), Rex channeled his own romantic fallout into what became a track that wraps you in rhythm and keeps you swaying. What started out as a skeleton loop in 2022 bloomed into a lush arrangement  featuring tight guitar work, warm basslines, and velvet-smooth keys.

Rex confides, “‘Without You’ is about how dull life feels post a serious relationship and the vices we turn to or in some cases abuse, to make us feel better and make the grief we feel lighter. The questions we ask like, ‘how long will it take me to get over this?’ and, ‘Why is it so damn hard?’ I wanted something universally relatable in the hook while using imagery in the verses staying in the world of Andy and Silk Sonic’s sauce. “

Rex began his career as a part of the Caribbean pop group Cover Drive, which gained remarkable success with three UK top ten hits, multi-platinum and silver singles. He’s opened for Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Ashanti, Lauryn Hill, and most recently was the secondBarbadian ever to perform at this year’s Glastonbury Festival doing bgvs for Shaboozey.
