Genre-blending independent pop artist and lyricist, Ella Collier, released her introspective new single “BLESS YOU,” which serves as the sixth installment of her debut album DANGEROUS. Co-written and produced with Sam Vendig (Chromeo, Ryman Leon), the track confronts the emotional toll of transactional relationships, jealousy-fueled fallouts, and the quiet grief of outgrowing your past self.
The track subverts the typical narrative of jealousy and emotional exhaustion by extending goodwill and best wishes to those who have not yet achieved self-actualization. With razor-sharp wit and genre-defying production, the single’s lyrically dense verses transform the sting of one-sided friendships into a cathartic exhale. Bouncy hip-hop drums and slick basslines build to a satirical gospel climax paired with clever turns of phrase that leave the listener with “BLESS YOU” lingering on their tongue for days.
“’BLESS YOU’ feels like a literal exhale for me. I address the reality of transactional relationships and the manifestation of jealousy in friendships, as well as the illusion of the paper trail — the chase for status and validation — which cultivates competitive greed, envy, and bitterness embedded in our fast-paced consumer society. That mindset has soiled the soul of my relationships with others — and with myself.” Ella added, “Finding out that some of the people you keep closest are actually your biggest haters is a hard pill to swallow.”
DANGEROUS is an unflinching exploration of the ego, lust, impulsivity, and fear. It’s a breakout project that wraps listeners in intoxicating choruses and striking sound design, creating a world that feels both familiar and futuristic. Ella plans to release singles from the 12-song project every 4-6 weeks, with the next track, “I DON’T DO DRUGS,” set to drop on October 24, 2025.
