Funky Pop Artist Mcbaise Returns with Hypnotic New Single “Moon”

Mcbaise (aka Mcbess), the London based, French producer and cult visual artist behind viral hit “Alice”, returns with his mesmerizing new single ‘Moon.” The track comes off his highly anticipated new album Wrongderful, out now via Dirty Melody Records.

“Moon” explores darker territory with crooner-like guitar, hypnotic slap bass, and trembling synths, appealing to fans of Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, and Mac DeMarco.

“‘Moon’ sits in a darker environment than most of the songs on Wrongderful,” explains Mcbaise. “It encapsulates the late-night overthinking that creeps in when everything else is quiet. The guitar lays down a crooner-like tone, only to be challenged by a slap bass, the whole thing drenched in trembling synths. It’s the musical equivalent of one of those black T-shirt airbrushed with a wolf howling at the moon and an eighteen wheeler.”

The single follows “Alice” (over 700,000 streams and nearly 1 million YouTube views) and “Cold Cuts” (close to 150,000 streams). Known for his signature animated videos and distinctive visual aesthetic, Mcbaise occupies a unique space where music meets visual art culture, appealing to fans of artists like KAWS and streetwear labels such as Supreme, Stussy, and Patta.

Wrongderful represents the follow-up to 2021’s Tubes. Originally from Cannes, Matthieu Bessudo (aka mcbess) has built an audio-visual world fusing yacht rock, funk, and psychedelic pop with animated aesthetics. What began as a lo-fi escape has grown into a cultural phenomenon spanning music, illustration, and direction.
