Emerging Artist Stella Smyth Delivers Intoxicating New Single “Streetcar Named Desire”

Stella Smyth (she/they) shares their intoxicating, self-produced new single “Streetcar Named Desire.”

Inspired by the 1950’s movie, Streetcar Named Desire is unapologetically here to confront your authentic desires. With perfectly poised vocals and an intensity that will leave you wanting more, Stella’s new single is destined to be kept on repeat as you confront your inner secrets.

Passionate and alluring, Stella shares more behind the track; “Streetcar explores the discomfort of admitting what you’re not supposed to want. It explores the nuances of desire, guilt, and emotional honesty in a relationship. It’s about fantasizing about infidelity and the shame that shadows those thoughts. It’s a confession of yearning, of chasing fantasy at the expense of dignity, and wrestling with what that means when you love someone.”

The track is self produced with co-producer Marty MARO (Selena Gomez, TWICE) and it’s not Stella’s first rodeo. Having already produced and written for the likes of Rosa Linn, Juliet Ivy, Alice Longyu Gao and additionally co-founding Producers Against Misogyny (PAM), it’s safe to say Stella Smyth has their finger on the pulse. PAM is an organization devoted to addressing inequities caused by misogyny in music. It’s seen Stella organise production workshops & conversations with guests such as Weyes Blood, Jack Antonoff, Mereba, Jacob Collier and more.

Stella Smyth is an LA born and based electronic pop writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Fascinated by local folklore and the environment of Southern California, Stella seeks their inspiration through life, love, lust and nature.
