Daya emerges from the emotional haze of heartbreak today on “Agnostic,” a dark, rhythm-driven track that blends moody alt-pop textures with unfiltered introspection. Built around haunting synths, brooding basslines, and a slow-burning sense of tension, the song creates an atmosphere that’s both intimate and hypnotic, a reflection of its emotional weight simmering just beneath the surface.
“It’s about finding your way through the wave of numbness that follows the end of a relationship,” she shares. “Creating it felt like stepping into new territory for me with the production, and vocally, it was one of my favorites to write.”
“Agnostic” is the third single from Daya’s newly announced sophomore album, Til Every Petal Drops, due out October 10th via ONErpm. The project, her first full-length in nearly a decade following 2016’s career-jolting Sit Still, Look Pretty, finds the 4x Platinum, Grammy-winning artist diving deeper into self-reflection and sonic experimentation, capturing the messy beauty of heartbreak, healing, and growth through a more raw and evolved lens.
Fans got an early glimpse of this next chapter last weekend when Daya made a surprise appearance during Gryffin’s Lollapalooza set, joining him onstage at Perry’s to perform their hit collaboration “Feel Good.” The unannounced performance electrified the crowd and hinted at an imminent breakout this fall.
2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of Daya’s breakout hit “Hide Away,” which catapulted the Pittsburgh-born artist to superstardom at just 16 years old. The track, now certified 4X platinum, has garnered nearly 700 million streams, recently received a viral remix from Alan Walker (with over 20M streams and 300K+ social media creates), and re-entered the cultural zeitgeist with a fresh alternate version in April.
With two upcoming major DJ collaborations and the release of her new album this fall, 2025 is shaping up to be one of Daya’s most ambitious years to date.
