CARR is done being unbothered; on her new single “Hardcore!,” the alt-pop hitmaker turns self-doubt into a rallying cry for the emotionally unfiltered. It’s the first taste of her upcoming album due early 2026, kicking off a new era defined by beautiful chaos.
“‘Hardcore!’ is about someone I was seeing who just wasn’t giving me enough,” CARR says. “I crave relationships that are fast, messy, and all-consuming — and with him, I started to wonder if maybe I was just too much.”
Fueled by biting guitars, punchy drums, and CARR’s signature mix of sarcasm and sincerity, “Hardcore!” captures that moment of realization when you stop shrinking yourself to fit into someone else’s comfort zone. It’s a song that burns bright, both sonically and emotionally — catchy enough for the club, but raw enough to sting.
CARR didn’t move to LA to chase music — she stumbled into it. Working nights at a recording studio, she and her friends would jump on the boards whenever rooms went unused, experimenting for fun. That fearless DIY spirit led to a record deal with Pete Wentz and Spencer Smith’s DCD2 Records, and a growing reputation for brutally honest songwriting and razor-edged pop hooks.
With “Hardcore!,” CARR proves she’s not “too much” — she’s exactly enough. It’s fierce, emotional, and impossible to ignore. Fans can expect more new music this winter ahead of the full album.
