Toronto songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Verzache has shared his new single “Fool,” a cathartic and melody-driven track available on all DSPs worldwide via ONErpm. Marked by shimmering electronic textures and a heartfelt vocal delivery, the track lands somewhere between modern bedroom pop and the emotional synthscapes of The 1975.
“I was pretty mad when I wrote Fool, which doesn’t happen very often,” he shares. “I had seen somebody I didn’t want to see at an event I went to in support of a friend of mine. In retrospect I don’t really care, but it’s a good example of how volatile/emotional I can be while going through something… It birthed some of my fave melodies. It’s very honest and straight from the heart which is why I love it.”
Dubbed the king of bedroom pop, Zach Farache – aka Verzache – has spent the past several years shaping the sound of a generation. From early SoundCloud success to co-writing and producing with Mac Miller and Young Thug, nearly selling out a U.S. tour, and racking up nearly 1 billion global streams, Verzache has arrived at a coming of age in his 27th year.
First breaking through with his 2018 viral hit “Needs,” Verzache carved a path for hyper-personal, genre-blending bedroom pop before it became a movement. Now, with “Fool” — and recent release “Sinking” — he doesn’t just revisit that foundation; he expands it. With more new music coming this year, Verzache’s next chapter is hitting deeper than ever.
Verzache simply crafts songs that he wants to hear, unintentionally filling a void by unapologetically being himself. He continues to write what’s on his mind on a series of 2025 singles and more to come.
“At the end of the day, I try to make music that I would like to hear,” he affirms. “I create based on however I’m feeling in the moment. It’s very honest, present, and authentic to me. It’s a more natural way for me to express myself, dare I say, ‘Easier’.”
