Aussie Pop-Punk Duo Teenage Joans Blast the Airwaves with Infectious New Single “My Heart’s Dead!”

Pop-punk goddesses Teenage Joans are back with their infectious new single, “My Heart’s Dead!”. Drawing heavy inspiration from Warrior-era Kesha, the new single is now yours to hear on most streaming platforms.

Organically blending the sonic bliss of artists like Paramore or Hot Mulligan, “My Heart’s Dead!” is a high-energy track perfect to blast on a hot summer day. Playful, tongue-in-cheek, and melodramatic, the reoccurring pop hook questions, after heartbreak “Can you make it beat again?”. Beginning with the bones of an interpretation of “Die Young”, Teenage Joans knew they struck gold when working on the new track with Australian producer and sound engineer Jared Nettle. While Cahli Blakers and Tahlia Borg’s heart beats may be faint, the drum beat on the new track remains rock steady.

Cahli and Tahlia of Teenage Joans elaborate further on the concept behind the new track:

“We basically posed the question – what if Kesha made a song with Blink-182?  We really wanted to write a song where there are three main vocal hooks that repeat throughout the whole song and layer over each other at the end for a huge singalong that people can easily pick up at our live shows.”

Featuring an intimate video made at home, get a glimpse below of the magical stage presence the girls in Teenage Joans possess.

Teenage Joans are composed of Cahli and Talia, a two-piece indie/pop-punk powerhouse from Australia that craft addictive songs that’ll have audiences singing along the first time they hear them. Over the last two years, the unit has toured around Australia and the US with greats such as Foo Fighters, Sum 41, Sleeping With Sirens, Noahfinnce, Pale Waves, Ball Park Music, The Chats, and are currently gearing up for their upcoming tours with PUP in August and Slowly Slowly in September.
