Breakout alt-pop force Ari Abdul returns with her most emotionally unfiltered release to date – “LEAVE ME HERE” – out now via Slumbo Labs/RCA Records. The distortion-drenched track will set the tone for her highly-anticipated self-titled debut project, slated for release later this year. Raw, visceral, and sonically fearless, the track marks a new chapter in Ari’s evolution, revealing the pain, beauty, and catharsis of confronting her past.
“‘LEAVE ME HERE is extremely personal and relates to our experiences as humans,” she says. “It reflects on abandonment and childhood trauma. The inspiration for the track lies in my childhood and past experiences. It’s the most open and vulnerable I’ve been songwriting-wise. At the end of the day, I’m just a girl.”
The song’s structure mirrors its emotional intensity, leaning into industrial and rock production while also showcasing her signature dark, hypnotic alt-pop sound. Soft, sultry vocals spiral into full-blown screamo – resulting in a sonic exorcism that feels as much like a purge as it does a performance.
“The song came super naturally as if it already existed in me,” she adds.
“LEAVE ME HERE” arrives in the midst of a banner year for Ari Abdul. In 2025 alone, she’s released standout collaborations with Jutes and Beach Weather, shared new singles “Dreams” and “Alive,” and completed a full US tour alongside the beloved Nessa Barrett.
Hailing from Brooklyn, rising artist Ari Abdul has forged her own brand of dark alternative pop. She combines the reverb-heavy swells of your favorite shoegaze artists such as The Neighborhood and Lana Del Rey, while showcasing an array of visual and stylistic influences.
