A New 3-Disc Compilation Focuses On Prime Mod and R&B Sounds From Britain

Mod fashion was one of the dominating forces in Britain in the ’60s, and it was accompanied by some heavy R&B grooves from both the U.S. and Britain. Now, a new 3-disc compilation titled Feelin’ Alright? Mod Rock, Funky Prog and Heavy Jazz 1967-1972 focusing on those grooves recorded in Britain is coming, with a release date set for June 20, 2025.

The set will feature sounds from Deep Purple, the Spencer Davis Group, Free and, of course, Traffic, whose song inspired the set’s title. Artists also featured among the 64 tracks include Small Faces, Jeff Beck (with Rod Stewart & Ronnie Wood), Georgie Fame, Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity, Blodwyn Pig, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and Graham Bond.

From the label’s announcement: This musical journey takes the listener from the heavy Hammond organ groove of Deep Purple’s “Hush” to Fleetwood Mac’s “Shake Your Moneymaker” to Faces’ “Pineapple & the Monkey.”

You can pre-order the new compilation here.
