‘Weapons’ Trailer #2 Deepens the Unsettling Small-Town Horror Mystery

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have unveiled trailer #2 for Weapons, the chilling new horror thriller from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, confirming its theatrical debut on August 8, 2025.

Trailer #2 intensifies the film’s eerie setup, raising alarming questions about what happened. This edition spotlights Julia Garner as the troubled teacher Justine Gandy, and Josh Brolin as Archer Graff, a desperate parent digging for answers, with ominous tension mounting as clues deepen.

Building on the original trailer’s unsettling tone, trailer #2 introduces glimpses of bizarre deaths, strange behavior from townspeople, and even unsettling audio cues—like the haunting question, “Are you watching?”

What We Know So Far

Set in the fictional Pennsylvania town of Maybrook, Weapons opens with a disturbing phenomenon: 17 schoolchildren from the same third-grade class mysteriously wake up at 2:17 AM, leave their homes, and vanish. The film unfolds through multiple interwoven perspectives—as a devastated parent (Josh Brolin), a haunted teacher (Julia Garner), a struggling police officer (Alden Ehrenreich), and other residents attempt to unravel the mystery.

While the missing kids propel the initial mystery, Cregger promises the story “forks and reinvents” itself—diving into supernatural horror, town secrets, and psychological decay as characters spiral into “way crazier shit” by the midpoint.

The new trailer for Weapons deepens the unsettling vibes first teased in the initial preview—without giving away answers. With its eerie school vanishings, powerhouse cast, and Cregger’s signature twisty direction, this August release is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most compelling horror events.
