Watch the Chilling New Trailer for Lili Reinhart’s Tech Thriller ‘American Sweatshop’

American Sweatshop, the 2025 mystery thriller directed by Uta Briesewitz, has unveiled its official trailer ahead of a September 19, 2025 theatrical and VOD release in the U.S. from distributor Brainstorm Media.

What to Expect

Lili Reinhart stars as Daisy Moriarty, a social media content moderator overwhelmed by the disturbing content she screens daily. The trailer immerses us in Daisy’s psychological collapse after she uncovers a video that may depict a real violent crime.

Channeling the unsettling grit of Black Mirror and Severance, the trailer showcases claustrophobic visuals, tense editing, and mounting paranoia as Daisy becomes obsessed with uncovering a hidden truth.

Cast & Creative Team

American Sweatshop marks the feature directorial debut of Uta Briesewitz, the esteemed cinematographer and television director behind Westworld and Jessica Jones. The screenplay was penned by Matthew Nemeth. Key producers include Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana, veterans of gritty narrative drama.

Co-starring Daniela Melchior, Joel Fry, Christiane Paul, Tim Plester, Faith Delaney, and Jeremy Ang Jones, the ensemble brings emotional weight and tension to the story.

The film debuted at the South by Southwest Film Festival 2025 in March, in the Narrative Spotlight category. Now it’s set for September 19, 2025 in limited theatrical release and simultaneously on digital-on-demand platforms.
