Tilda Swinton is Getting Her Own Immersive Exhibition at a Museum in Amsterdam

Renowned British actress Tilda Swinton is set to unveil an immersive exhibition titled Tilda Swinton – Ongoing at Amsterdam’s Eye Filmmuseum. This exclusive showcase will run from September 28, 2025, to February 8, 2026, offering visitors a deep dive into Swinton’s illustrious four-decade career and her collaborative endeavors across film, art, and fashion.

Curated by Swinton herself, the exhibition emphasizes the profound relationships that have shaped her artistic journey. It will feature eight distinctive works, six of which are newly commissioned pieces developed in partnership with esteemed filmmakers and artists, including Luca Guadagnino, Joanna Hogg, Jim Jarmusch, Pedro Almodóvar, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and photographer Tim Walker. These collaborations aim to explore recurring themes in Swinton’s work, such as nature, memory, and the essence of fellowship.

A significant segment of the exhibition pays homage to the late filmmaker Derek Jarman, a pivotal figure in Swinton’s early career. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to view previously unseen archival material from Jarman’s 8mm films, offering insights into the creative synergy between Jarman and Swinton.

Complementing the exhibition, Eye Filmmuseum will host a series of film screenings spotlighting Swinton’s diverse roles, alongside performances and discussions that delve into her artistic collaborations and contributions to cinema.
