Las Vegas’s iconic Sphere is set to debut an extraordinary immersive reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, opening August 28, 2025. Using cutting-edge tech, this theatrical spectacle promises to plunge audiences deep into the classic 1939 film like never before.
Massive Wicked Witch of the East legs (50 ft.) and 22-foot ruby slippers now adorn the Sphere’s exterior—a striking photo op and teaser for the experience within.

Immersive 16K Dome Experience
The entire 102-minute film (condensed to ~75–80 minutes) is displayed on the Sphere’s gigantic 160,000‑sq‑ft 16K LED interior .
Advanced AI by Google Cloud—using Gemini, Veo, and Imagen—enhances resolution, expands backgrounds, and digitally “rebuilds” characters and scenery to fill the panoramic screen.
Over 1.2 petabytes of data processed to bring restored visuals and extended scenes to life.
Multi‑Sensory Effects Bring Oz to You
The experience fuses haptic seats, wind, heat, and custom scent effects, along with remastered original songs performed by an 80-piece orchestra across 167,000 speakers.
Whole scenes, such as characters originally off-camera, now appear in-frame—thanks to intelligent AI outpainting.
This new experience is being co-produced by Sphere Studios in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, Google, and Magnopus.
Key production leads include Jane Rosenthal (The Irishman), Ben Grossmann (Hugo), Jennifer Lame (Oppenheimer), and Zack Winokur (Little Island).
Tickets went on sale June 10, 2025, starting at about $104—and they’re already selling fast.
