Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining and Jack Nicholson’s masterful performance in that film are considered horror classics. So far, this film has not been available in IMAX, but now the wait for the fans is over. Yet, instead of that happening on Halloween, The Shining IMAX premiere is set to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the film’s original release – December 12, 2025. As a reminder, the film revolves around the descent of recovering alcoholic Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) into madness after he accepts a winter caretaker position at the Overlook Hotel, situated high in the Rocky Mountains. The job isolates Torrance, his wife (Shelley Duvall), and their psychic young son (Danny Lloyd) until the spring, with the situation taking a turn for the worse when residual bad energy in the hotel begins to drive Jack insane.
