Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the third installment in the popular magic-themed franchise. The film sees the return of original stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, while introducing new cast members Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Rosamund Pike, and Dominic Sessa.
The story follows the Four Horsemen, a group of illusionists who use elaborate stage shows to carry out sophisticated heists, now joined by a new generation of magicians. The film promises fresh tricks, twists, and cinematic magic.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the film’s plot, where J. Daniel Atlas (Eisenberg) enlists a new team of young magicians to pull off a grand heist involving the theft of a valuable “heart diamond” from a corrupt family. Despite initial separation, the original Horsemen reunite to support the new team, with Freeman reprising his role as Thaddeus Bradley.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, who has previously collaborated with Eisenberg on Zombieland, the movie was filmed in Budapest and wrapped production in November 2024. The screenplay was written by franchise veterans Ed Solomon and Boaz Yakin, along with Seth Grahame-Smith. Greenblatt, preparing rigorously for her role, studied at the Magic Castle. The film is set to premiere in theaters on November 14, 2025, with a fourth installment already in development.
In a unique marketing stunt for the upcoming film, Lionsgate distributed $250,000 to fans on April 29, 2025. Advertisements appeared online and in New York’s Times Square instructing viewers to text a number “for magic.” Many who did so received surprise payments of $119.16 via Venmo when the countdown hit zero and the film’s trailer premiered at noon PST. The act mirrored a signature trick from the first film, generating considerable buzz on social media.
