Netflix is set to premiere Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy on June 10, 2025, delving into Travis Scott’s catastrophic festival in Houston. This marks the latest installment in its Trainwreck documentary series. On November 5, 2021, a crowd surge during led to the deaths of 10 attendees and injuries to over 300 others.
Directed by Yemi Bamiro and Hannah Poulter, the documentary offers an unflinching examination of the factors that contributed to the disaster. Through a combination of real-time footage, emergency call recordings, and interviews with survivors, first responders, and crowd safety experts, the film sheds light on the severe shortcomings in event planning and crowd control that culminated in the tragedy.
Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy features poignant testimonies from those directly affected by the incident, including festival attendees, paramedics, and security personnel. By June 2024, all 10 wrongful death lawsuits had been settled out of court. A Houston grand jury concluded that no single individual was criminally responsible for the deaths.
