Marvel Studios has unveiled the first official trailer for Ironheart, the highly anticipated Disney+ series starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. Set to premiere with a three-episode launch on June 24, 2025, the series follows the young genius inventor as she returns to her hometown of Chicago after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There, she confronts new challenges that pit her technological prowess against mystical forces.
A Battle Between Technology and Magic
In Ironheart, Riri Williams grapples with the complexities of balancing her academic life at MIT and her role as a burgeoning superhero. The trailer introduces Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood (played by Anthony Ramos), a formidable adversary who wields dark magic. This clash introduces a compelling dynamic between cutting-edge technology and ancient mysticism, setting the stage for a unique narrative within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Dominique Thorne reprises her role as Riri Williams, bringing depth to the character’s journey from a brilliant student to a superhero forging her own path. The series also features Anthony Ramos as The Hood, Lyric Ross as Riri’s best friend Natalie Washington, Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, and Manny Montana as Cousin John. Anji White portrays Riri’s mother, Ronnie Williams. Additionally, Jim Rash returns as the Dean of MIT, a character he previously played in Captain America: Civil War.
Ironheart is created by Chinaka Hodge, with executive production by Ryan Coogler, Kevin Feige, and other Marvel veterans. The six-episode series is directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes, each helming three episodes. Filming took place in Atlanta and Chicago, capturing the essence of Riri’s environment and background.
Ironheart promises to deliver a fresh perspective within the Marvel Universe, exploring themes of identity, ambition, and the intersection of science and magic. Don’t miss the premiere on Disney+ this June.
