‘Keeper’, Osgood Perkins’ New Horror from Neon Teases Cabin Terror in First Trailer

Neon has debuted the first teaser trailer for Keeper, the latest horror thriller from acclaimed director Osgood Perkins (Gretel & Hansel, The Monkey). The eerie clip, bearing the tagline “You aren’t right for this place,” sets a chilling tone ahead of its November 14, 2025, theatrical premiere.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much, but showcases a vignette of meticulously framed shots, a building gothic soundtrack featuring almost ritualistic chanting, and crescendoing with shots of blood, promising terrors awaiting.

Keeper stars Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland as a couple who head to a remote cabin for an anniversary getaway, only to discover they’re not alone.

Subtle but terrifying visuals foreshadow a “dark trip” born of slow-burn dread rather than jump scares.

Creative Team & Background

Written by Nick Lepard during the WGA strike, the screenplay was fast-tracked and directed by Perkins, who filmed it in just three weeks on a modest sub-$8 million budget.

Cinematography by Jeremy Cox complements Perkins’ style with precise framing and haunting ambiance. The screenplay emerged from the 2024 Cannes Film Market and wrapped production by July 2024.

Keeper will hit U.S. cinemas on November 14, 2025, via Neon.

It marks Perkins’ second horror film in 2025 following the visceral The Monkey, solidifying his reputation as a premier low-budget shock master. This new entry promises a more psychological, atmospheric approach.

The teaser for Keeper hints at a haunting genre journey—rooted in isolation, atmospheric dread, and character-driven horror. With Perkins at the helm, Neon backing the project, and November’s release approaching, Bod fans and horror aficionados have a terrifying new highlight to anticipate this fall.
