Hulu Has Unveiled the First Look at the Exciting ‘King of the Hill’ Revival

Hulu has revealed the opening credit sequence for their highly anticipated King of the Hill revival, offering fans a glimpse into the updated lives of the Hill family and their Arlen neighbors. The 14th season of the beloved animated series is set to premiere on August 4, 2025, with all ten episodes available for streaming on launch day.

Aged Characters and New Storylines

In a rare move for animated series, the characters in King of the Hill have aged in real time. Hank and Peggy Hill return to Arlen, Texas, after years of working abroad in Saudi Arabia, only to find their hometown transformed. Their son, Bobby Hill, now 21, is pursuing a culinary career in Dallas, navigating adulthood alongside former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.

The revival maintains the show’s signature humor while reflecting on modern societal changes. Co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, along with new showrunner Saladin K. Patterson, aim to explore contemporary themes through the lens of the Hill family’s experiences.

Returning Cast and Tributes

Original cast members Mike Judge (Hank Hill), Kathy Najimy (Peggy Hill), Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill), Stephen Root (Bill Dauterive), and Lauren Tom (Minh) reprise their roles. The late Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble, completed voice work for six episodes before his passing in 2023. Toby Huss will take over the role in subsequent episodes, ensuring continuity for the fan-favorite character.

The new opening credits sequence, revealed during the ATX Television Festival in Austin, showcases the characters embracing modern technology and societal shifts. Fans have responded positively to the teaser, expressing excitement for the series’ return and the evolution of its characters.

King of the Hill originally aired from 1997 to 2009, earning acclaim for its nuanced portrayal of American life. The upcoming season promises to continue this legacy, blending nostalgia with contemporary storytelling.
