Just in time for a milestone celebration, Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand has released a striking Back to the Future 40th Anniversary set featuring both the iconic DeLorean Time Machine and Doc Brown’s GMC Value Van—the first time the latter appears in 1:64 scale. The set launched exclusively via Mattel Creations today at 9 AM PT, priced at $32, with a limit of two per customer.
Nostalgia Meets Design Excellence
This Hot Wheels set recreates the Twin Pines Mall scene where Doc unveils the Time Machine—complete with the DeLorean and Brand-new GMC Value Van featuring authentic graphics and Real Riders wheels.
The collector-friendly outer box opens to reveal a ramp display, allowing the DeLorean to slide out just like in the film.
The DeLorean boasts movie-accurate exhaust, piping, and “OUTATIME” license plate. The Van has a weathered windshield and 1:64 scale fidelity.
Hot Wheels’ Back to the Future 40th Anniversary set is a nostalgic triumph: faithful recreations of the DeLorean and Doc’s Van, premium features, and playful display packaging that resonates with fans. With its $32 price tag, and limited availability, this collector edition is destined to be a standout for Back to the Future and Hot Wheels enthusiasts alike.
