HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series has revealed its latest wave of casting, adding beloved characters like Draco and Lucius Malfoy, Molly Weasley, Petunia and Vernon Dursley, and Seamus Finnigan and Lavender Brown—bringing fresh faces to iconic roles ahead of the planned 2026 premiere.
Draco & Lucius Malfoy

- Lox Pratt takes on Draco Malfoy, Harry’s nemesis
- Johnny Flynn, acclaimed actor-musician, portrays Draco’s father Lucius—approved by original Malfoy actor Jason Isaacs
The Dursleys

- Petunia Dursley will be portrayed by Bel Powley (Diary of a Teenage Girl)
- Vernon Dursley will be played by Daniel Rigby, known from Eric & Ernie
Leo Earley brings the pyromaniac Gryffindor, Seamus Finnigan, to life, while Lavender Brown will be played by Sienna Moosah.
These additions join previously announced leads—including Dominic McLaughlin (Harry), Arabella Stanton (Hermione), Alastair Stout (Ron), and veterans like John Lithgow (Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (McGonagall), Nick Frost (Hagrid), and Paapa Essiedu (Snape).
Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod aim for a thorough, book-aligned series, with each season dedicated to a single Harry Potter novel — set to debut in 2026.
While some original cast members expressed no intention to return, their blessings—like Isaacs for Flynn—show reverence and support.
This wave of casting deepens the show’s roster, embracing both fan-favorite roles and key background characters, creating a richer, more textured world. With a blend of established talent and new faces, HBO’s adaptation promises to resonate with lifelong fans and newcomers alike.
