Hawk Tuah Girl is Getting Her Own Documentary… Yeah We Know

Haliey Welch, widely recognized as the “Hawk Tuah Girl,” is set to be the subject of an upcoming documentary produced by the Emmy-winning company Bungalow Media + Entertainment (Surviving Jeffrey Epstein). The film aims to chronicle Welch’s unexpected rise from a small-town resident to an international internet sensation following her viral moment in June 2024.

In a candid street interview that month, Welch’s humorous and unfiltered remark garnered over 40 million impressions within days, catapulting her into the global spotlight. Initially overwhelmed by the sudden attention, Welch eventually embraced her newfound fame, launching a chart-topping podcast, a successful merchandise line, and engaging in various public appearances, including joining country star Zach Bryan on stage and participating in a DJ set with Shaquille O’Neal.

She also experienced her fair share of controversy and potential legal troubles. In early December, Welch announced that she would be releasing her own cryptocurrency memecoin called $HAWK, which quickly tanked and caused Welch to disappear from the internet.

The forthcoming documentary promises to delve into Welch’s journey, exploring the complexities of viral fame and the scrutiny that often accompanies it. Bob Friedman, CEO of Bungalow Media, highlighted the project’s intent to shed light on the profound impact of social media in creating and dismantling internet personalities.

Welch herself has teased the documentary on social media, hinting that the truth behind her story is “even more bizarre than you think.” She aims to address and debunk various rumors that have circulated about her, offering viewers an unfiltered look into her life and experiences.

“I hope y’all been enjoying the crazy stories about ‘my life’ unfold on social media,” Welch said in a statement about the upcoming documentary. “First, I was dead. Then pregnant. Now I’m wanted by Interpol and in jail! Luckily, we’ve been working with Bungalow to start spilling the tea and the truth is actually even more bizarre than you think.”
