Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist Drop Stylish “Alfredo: The Movie” Short Film

Grammy-nominated duo Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have released an atmospheric short film titled Alfredo: The Movie, serving as a cinematic teaser for their upcoming album Alfredo 2, set to drop July 25th.

A Yakuza Noir Unfolds in Tokyo

Directed by Nick Walker and shot in Japan, the short immerses viewers in a vivid “Tokyo Crime Saga.” Gibbs emerges from solitude in the mountains to rejoin a noodle-laundering underworld, joined by Alchemist’s cool presence behind the ramen shop counter.

The visuals channel a Ghost Dog–style urban noir—complete with smoky izakayas, alleyway deals, and sword-wielding intensity—offering a bold visual complement to the duo’s signature grit and lyrical precision.

Alfredo 2 Teaser

Coinciding with the film’s release, fans can stream “1995”, the opening track from Alfredo 2. Serving as a “spiritual sequel” to the duo’s 2020 hit “1985,” the new single amplifies anticipation with its layered production and razor-sharp rhymes.

Alfredo 2 is set to release July 25, 2025, under ESGN, ALC Records, and Virgin Music Group. It will feature 14 songs featuring heavyweights like Anderson .Paak, Larry June, and JID.

Their debut album Alfredo received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album in 2021. Five years later, Alfredo 2 positions itself as a worthy successor—fusing cinematic visual storytelling with sonic depth.

Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have transformed their Alfredo 2 campaign into a multi-dimensional experience—blending cinematic visuals, storytelling, and top-tier hip-hop craftsmanship.
