Lionsgate and Fifth Season have dropped the first official trailer for Anniversary, a tense family drama–thriller directed by Jan Komasa and co-written with Lori Rosene-Gambino. The film, set for release on October 29, 2025, features a powerful ensemble cast led by Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler.
Plot & Premise
The story follows Dr. Ellen Taylor (Diane Lane) and her husband on their 25th wedding anniversary. Tension erupts when their son’s new girlfriend, Liz (Phoebe Dynevor), arrives—an individual Ellen immediately recognizes from her own past and suspects carries radical views. As familial trust hangs by a thread, Ellen’s fears begin to tear them apart.
The trailer is underscored by a haunting cover of Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” amplifying the film’s themes of fractured connections and ideological conflict. Lane praises the film for its relevance, noting its deeper commentary on national identity through the lens of a family in crisis.
