Real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie are set to captivate audiences in Together, a supernatural body horror film directed by Michael Shanks in his feature debut. The newly released trailer offers a haunting glimpse into a narrative that intertwines love, isolation, and a mysterious force that threatens to consume both body and soul.
In Together, Franco and Brie portray Tim and Millie, a couple seeking a fresh start by relocating to the countryside. However, their attempt to rekindle their relationship takes a sinister turn as they encounter an otherworldly presence that begins to physically and emotionally bind them. The trailer, set to The Turtles’ 1967 hit “Happy Together,” juxtaposes moments of intimacy with unsettling imagery, including scenes where the couple’s lips adhere unnaturally and their bodies undergo disturbing transformations.
The film delves into themes of codependency and the extremes of love, offering a fresh perspective within the horror genre.
Together premiered in the Midnight section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, garnering significant attention and leading to a $17 million acquisition by Neon. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on July 30, 2025.
This project marks another collaboration for Franco and Brie, who previously worked together on The Rental (2020) and Somebody I Used to Know (2023). Their on-screen chemistry and real-life partnership add depth to the film’s exploration of love and transformation under supernatural duress.
