The beloved early-2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle is making a comeback with a four-episode revival miniseries, scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in December 2025. This special event commemorates the show’s 25th anniversary, bringing back the quirky dynamics of the Wilkerson family that fans cherished.
Returning Cast and New Faces
Original cast members are reprising their iconic roles: Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Christopher Masterson as Francis, and Justin Berfield as Reese.
However, Erik Per Sullivan, who portrayed Dewey, will not return, having stepped away from acting. The role of Dewey will now be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. Additionally, the revival introduces new characters:
- Keeley Karsten as Leah, Malcolm’s daughter
- Kiana Madeira as Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend
- Anthony Timpano as Jamie
- Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, the youngest sibling
The storyline centers around Malcolm and his daughter being drawn back into the family’s chaos during Hal and Lois’s 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Filming took place in Vancouver from April to May 2025.
Fans can look forward to the revival’s release on Disney+ in December 2025, rekindling the humor and heart that made Malcolm in the Middle a standout series.
