‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’ Trailer Unveils Dark Romance & Devil-Fueled Mayhem

MAPPA’s much-anticipated anime film, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, has dropped its explosive first trailer, confirming its deep dive into one of the manga’s most emotional and action-packed sagas. The film adapts the iconic “Bomb Girl” storyline, arriving in Japanese cinemas September 19, 2025, and internationally—through Sony Pictures—on October 29, 2025.

The trailer opens with a dramatic Denji monologue professing his love for Makima before introducing Reze, the enigmatic café worker who challenges his loyalties and unleashes chaos.

Viewers witness visceral battles featuring Denji and new enemies—Bomb Girl and the Typhoon Devil—highlighting the film’s brutal combat and intense stakes.

Beyond gore, the trailer focuses on Denji’s internal conflict between love and survival—taglined by headlines like “Love Is in the Air…”—as he navigates a deadly world.

Creative Team & Cast

Director, Tatsuya Yoshihara returns, keeping continuity with the TV anime’s stylistic tone. The screenplay is written by Hiroshi Seko, the original anime’s writer, with Tatsuki Fujimoto credited for the original story.

Main characters return, with Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Reina Ueda voicing Reze, and Makima voiced by Tomori Kusunoki, among others.

The main theme song is “IRIS OUT” by Kenshi Yonezu, the artist behind the hit Chainsaw Man opening “KICK BACK.”

Japan’s premiere is set for September 19, 2025, followed by theater releases in 80+ countries on September 24, and U.S./U.K. debut on October 29, 2025.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc promises a compelling blend of heartbreak and horror. With a gripping love triangle at the center, powered by MAPPA’s intense animation and emotional storytelling—and backed by a high-profile theme song—this film is one of 2025’s most anticipated anime events.
