In Beast of War, acclaimed genre director Kiah Roache‑Turner (known for Wyrmwood, Sting) redefines wartime horror. Set in 1942 following an attack on a troop carrier in the Timor Sea, a squad of Australian soldiers clings to life on a makeshift raft—only to find their survivors’ plight turns truly nightmarish when a great white shark begins circling their raft.
Fronted by Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin), the cast includes Joel Nankervis (Red Belly), Sam Delich (Spiderhead), Aswan Reid (The New Boy), and Lee Tiger Halley among others. Their performances are set against a backdrop of high-stakes tension, camaraderie, and horror.

The film is set to premiere in Australian theaters on October 9, 2025, with a U.S. theatrical and digital release following on October 10, 2025, via Well Go USA Entertainment. It carries an R rating for “bloody violent content, gore, and language.”
From History to Horror
Inspired by the real events surrounding the sinking of the HMAS Armidale during evacuation operations off Western Australia, Beast of War channels historical terror into a high-concept creature feature.
