Princes’ One-of-a-Kind “Purple Rain” Jordan 11’s was Sold for $100,000

A one-of-a-kind Air Jordan 11 “Purple Rain” sneaker, crafted exclusively for the late music icon Prince, recently surfaced on the market with an asking price of $100,000. This ultra-rare pair was designed by Jordan Brand to honor Prince’s legacy, but due to his untimely passing in 2016, the shoes never reached him.

The sneaker showcases an all-purple color scheme, featuring luxurious velvet mudguards and a suede upper and tongue. The opaque purple outsole enhances the regal aesthetic, while a white midsole and metallic silver Jumpman logos add subtle contrast.

This exclusive pair is currently in the possession of renowned sneaker collector Simon Voltaire Tan, known in the sneaker community as @depeche23mode. He had listed the size 9 deadstock pair for sale, highlighting its unparalleled rarity and significance to both sneaker enthusiasts and fans of Prince.

Based on his recent post, he’s stated that the pair was actually sold.

Prince’s Air Jordan 11 “Purple Rain” stands as a testament to the intersection of music and sneaker culture, embodying the spirit of an artist whose influence transcended genres. Collectors and fans alike now have the opportunity to own a piece of this unique collaboration, reflecting the enduring legacy of Prince.
