Literary magazine Little Engines is set to publish for the first time poems by Bon Iver main man Justin Vernon. The poems will appear in the publication’s 10th edition, which prepared a sneak peek, with a partial view of one of Vernon’s poems, titled “Could’ve or Should’ve,” which is printed on pink paper, accompanied by an illustration of a flower pot.
Little Engines creator Adam Voith, describes the publication:
Little Engines started in 2001, publishing four perfect-bound print issues. Each included a carefree mix of fiction, comics, interviews, photos, essays, and more.
People liked the magazine, and I loved putting it together, but while digging into what should have been Issue Five, my day job in music became all consuming. I set the magazine aside, temporarily. Seventeen years later, a few months into Covid with live music shut down, I started working on a re-launch.
Originally, I published Little Engines believing I was reacting against something. I was a punk, fresh out of a midwestern state college, moderately educated with an English degree, and ready to rage against a publishing industry I knew nothing about. I ran it the way I saw my friends running record labels: Do it yourself, make it up as you go.

Justin Vernon came to international prominence with For Emma, Forever Ago, his first album as Bon Iver.
Vernon is also currently preparing a new album titled SABLE, fABLE, which is set for release on April 11, 2025. The album will include contributions from Danielle Haim, Dijon, and Flock of Dimes.
Vernon released another single from SABLE, fABLE called “Everything Is Peaceful Love.”
