‘One Piece’ is Coming to Takeover the Las Vegas Sphere Again

The iconic anime series One Piece is making a triumphant return to the Las Vegas Sphere, captivating fans with a spectacular visual display during the 2025 Licensing Expo. From May 19 to May 21, the Sphere’s exterior—known as the Exosphere—will showcase a specially crafted 90-second animation featuring Monkey D. Luffy and his Gear 5 transformation, along with highlights from the beloved TV anime.

This exclusive presentation is a collaborative effort between Toei Animation and the Licensing Expo, aiming to celebrate the enduring popularity of One Piece. The animation is uniquely designed for the Sphere’s massive 366-foot-tall and 516-foot-wide LED display, offering an immersive experience that can’t be replicated elsewhere.

Lisa Yamatoya, Senior Director and Head of Marketing at Toei Animation, expressed enthusiasm about the event:

“We’re thrilled to showcase One Piece at Licensing Expo 2025 with an encore of our original activation on the Exosphere. On the heels of last year’s global anniversary, One Piece continues to grow exponentially from brand marketing efforts like this, increasing its passionate fan base and driving demand for licensed merchandise and location-based entertainment. One Piece is truly a pop culture phenomenon.”

The 2024 debut of One Piece at the Sphere marked a significant milestone, celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary with a week-long display that drew fans from around the world. The upcoming 2025 activation promises to build upon that success, offering attendees of the Licensing Expo—and the general public—a chance to witness the Straw Hat Pirates in an unprecedented format.

For those unable to attend in person, glimpses of the display may be available through live streams or recordings shared by fans and media outlets. However, the full impact of the Sphere’s immersive presentation is best experienced firsthand.

One Piece continues to be a global phenomenon, with the anime series streaming on platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu. As the franchise expands its reach through innovative events like the Sphere takeover, it solidifies its status as a cornerstone of contemporary pop culture.
