Fans of The Beginning After The End have something exciting to look forward to, the anime is officially coming back for Season 2 next spring. Crunchyroll made the announcement, revealing that the popular adaptation of TurtleMe’s web novel and webcomic will continue its story soon.
To hype up the news, Crunchyroll even released a special video clip from the post-credits scene of Season 1’s final episode, which aired on January 18. This teaser gives fans a small taste of what’s coming next:
The first season of The Beginning After The End premiered on April 2 and was streamed worldwide by Crunchyroll (excluding Asia, but including India). It also featured both English and French dubs. The anime adaptation is based on the hit web novel series written by TurtleMe, which originally launched on Tapas in 2017. The story has since become one of the most popular web novels and webcomics, attracting millions of readers worldwide.
The anime follows King Grey, who is reincarnated into a world filled with magic, mythical creatures, and epic battles. Now living as Arthur Leywin, he must learn to master his new abilities, protect his loved ones, and uncover the secrets behind his mysterious new life.
The voice cast for the anime includes:
- Natsumi Fujiwara as Arthur
- Makoto Furukawa as Grey
- Kana Ichinose as Tessia Eralith
- Chiaki Omigawa as Jasmine Flamesworth
- And many more talented actors.
The anime is directed by Keitarō Motonaga (Date A Live, Jormungand) at Studio A-Cat. The series scripts are supervised by Takamitsu Kōno (Utawarerumono: The False Faces), and Masami Sueoka handled character designs. Music is composed by Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). The opening theme, “KINGSBLOOD,” is performed by Canadian artist KALA.
Interestingly, The Beginning After The End is noted as the first anime adaptation of an American web novel and webcomic. It currently has over 61.8 million total reads worldwide, making it a massive global hit.
