Recent anime, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior Season 2 has officially been announced. The news was revealed on the anime’s official website, along with a special celebratory illustration by the series’ artist, Suzunosuke.
Plot & Premise
In this fantasy story, an eight-year-old girl named Pride Royal Ivy realizes she’s been reincarnated into an otome game, specifically as the villainess and final boss meant to bring ruin. But rather than follow her cruel destiny, she makes a surprising choice: to protect the male leads and save the kingdom instead of destroying it.
Armed with powerful magic, political power, and her memories from a past life, Pride cheats fate by becoming a savior rather than the feared final boss. It’s a fun twist on the villainess-reincarnation genre, filled with charm, clever decisions, and plenty of heart.
Season 1
The first season aired in July 2023 and was streamed on HIDIVE with English subtitles, thanks to Sentai Filmworks, which also released it on Blu-ray in October 2024. Season 1 was directed by Norio Nitta (Kami-sama Minarai), with series composition by Deko Akao (Noragami, Pokémon: Journeys), and music by Hanae Nakamura and team.
The story started as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in April 2018, written by Tenichi. It was later picked up by Ichijinsha for official print publication in 2019, with illustrations by Suzunosuke.
Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing both the light novels and manga in English. A manga version by Akiko Kawano also began in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum in June 2023. It recently relaunched in March 2025 under a new title and arc: The Savior’s Pride.
