A24 has turned into this generation’s de facto Horror factory, reimagining the genre, and they’re not stopping anytime soon with the latest trailer for their new movie Heretic.
Heretic is their latest psychological horror film written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and starring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, and Chloe East.
The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024, and is set to be released in the United States on November 8, 2024.
The general premise is as follows: When two Mormon missionaries attempt to convert a man, it turns out to be far more dangerous than they could have anticipated.
Early reviews for the movie have been generally positive, with the website Rotten Tomatoes showing 92% of 38 critics’ reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.4/10. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 67 out of 100, based on 16 critics, indicating “generally favorable” reviews.
