Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers Join Forces with The Linda Lindas on New Single “Please Me”

Faking it till you make it

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have joined forces with The Linda Lindas for new collaborative single “Please Me.” It’s the latest from I Love You Too – a just released deluxe edition of the band’s debut LP, via their new partnership with Mom + Pop Music. It’s a song about faking it till you  make it, and it is high energy – we’re talking wall-to-wall gang vocals, tearing guitar riffs, and it goes for  like one and a half minutes.

“’Please Me’ is about faking it till you make it. The lyrics are so cocky and overconfident, almost like an  inner monologue of affirmations that you’d tell yourself on the way to a party. It’s about embodying the  cool girl mindset until everyone has a big fat crush on you.

“These are the things you’d tell yourself and end up feeling sexy and cool and like everyone in the world is  obsessed with you, even if you’re actually just super delusional and maybe had one too many Cruisers.” –  Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers

The Linda Lindas included Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers’ debut album I Love You in their favorite  albums of 2023 for Brooklyn Vegan. Which was a lovely surprise to the band, they’re longtime fans.  When it came time to record “Please Me,” Teen Jesus knew there was a call they had to make:

“We just had to collaborate with The Linda Lindas on this one, because the musical style of Please Me is  very inspired by them! Their song ‘Oh!’ has been one of our favourites for a long time so we knew they  could help take ‘Please Me’ to another level.”

They were also just announced to support Pearl Jam (and The Pixies) on three dates on their massive Australian tour this November.

Teen Jesus tour the US for the first time this month, playing headline shows in NYC and LA and Ohana Festival with The Breeders, IDLES, Kim Gordon, and more. Then, they’re hitting the road for their national I Love You Too tour of so-called Australia this November and are also playing Big Pineapple and  NYE on the Hill Festivals.

Are you rocking with this one?
