St. Lundi Shares Emotional New Single and Video “Loved Somebody Else”

A contender for his strongest song to date

St. Lundi is on a high as the September 20th release of his debut album The Island approaches. Now St. Lundi causes another wave of anticipation for The Island by sharing the new single “Loved Somebody Else.”

An instant contender for his strongest song to date, “Loved Somebody Else” is full of the strengths that fans are coming to love St. Lundi for. His lyrics are brave enough to articulate the vulnerabilities that come with being insecure within a new relationship. Yet St. Lundi’s love of soaring melodies and strident hooks takes the song somewhere else entirely, ultimately sounding more like a celebration than an expression of insecurity.

St. Lundi says, “I fell in love for the first and only time back in 2020 and this song came from an emotion I had felt once or twice in the beginning of the relationship. I was nervous and inexperienced in falling in love and being in a relationship, but knew that my partner had been in one before. My own insecurities started to make me feel jealous of the relationship she’d had before ours and I’d worry about if she loved me as much as I loved her or if I was being too much.”

“Loved Somebody Else” is the latest song to preview The Island. Each song operates as an autobiographical chapter in St. Lundi’s life, from leaving his home on the Hayling Island for bigger dreams in London to delving into the stories and personalities from his family, and finding – and trying to maintain – love.
