Exciting new details, including the release date, for Dragon Ball Daima, the upcoming Japanese anime series produced by Toei Animation, have been revealed. It marks the sixth televised installment in the Dragon Ball franchise. Daima is especially significant as it’s the second and final series to have been written by the legendary creator Akira Toriyama, who passed away in March 2024.
In Dragon Ball Daima, Goku and his friends find themselves transformed into children as a result of a mysterious conspiracy. To reverse this situation, they embark on an epic journey to a new and unknown world.
The series promises to be an action-packed adventure filled with the classic Dragon Ball excitement but set in a completely new environment with unfamiliar challenges. This fresh twist on the well-known characters opens up endless possibilities for thrilling battles and dramatic moments.
Cast
The cast of Dragon Ball Daima brings together both familiar and new voices. The legendary Masako Nozawa returns to voice Son Goku, continuing her iconic role. Alongside her, a variety of talented voice actors will bring new characters to life:

The music for Dragon Ball Daima is being handled by world-famous artist Zedd, who composed both the opening and ending theme songs.
The ending song, titled “Nakama” (Companions), features a collaboration with the singer-songwriter Ai, who wrote the lyrics for this emotional track.
The opening theme, “Jaka Jaan,” is performed by Zedd featuring C&K. This exciting collaboration between top-tier artists promises to elevate the anime’s energetic and emotional moments.
Release Date
The release date for Dragon Ball Daima has been set for Friday, October 11, at 11:40 p.m. on Fuji TV’s new anime programming block. It will also begin airing on Cunchyroll on October 11th as well. The first episode will be 10 minutes longer than usual, and it will really give fans an idea about the new chapter.
In addition, the world premiere will take place on October 6 during a special event called “Dragon Ball Daimatsuri” at Tokyo Big Sight.
This festival, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball series, will feature three screenings of the first episode throughout the day.
Production Team
The series directors include Yoshitaka Yashima, known for his work on Dragon Ball Super and Digimon, and Aya Komaki, who has directed episodes of One Piece.
Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is adapting Akira Toriyama’s character designs, while Yuuko Kakihara is supervising and writing the scripts.
