Me and the Alien MuuMuu, the popular series by Hiroki Miyashita, is officially getting a TV anime adaptation, set to premiere in 2025.
The Story
The story follows Sakurako, a university student whose peaceful life takes a chaotic turn when she encounters MuuMuu, a cat-like alien. MuuMuu arrives on Earth from a distant planet with a unique mission: to study household appliances. His goal? To help his species recover their lost technological prowess. What follows is a comedic yet heartwarming tale filled with bizarre incidents and a growing bond between Sakurako and her alien companion.
The manga, serialized in Young King OURs by Shōnen Gahōsha, has captivated readers with its quirky blend of “Super Spectacle/Various Household Appliances/Cat Comedy.” The anime adaptation promises to bring that same charm to the screen.
The news first broke through a “leaked image” shared on the web version of Monthly Mu magazine. The teaser looked like a poorly edited graphic, adding a playful mystery to the announcement. Soon after, the official key visual was unveiled, showcasing Sakurako alongside MuuMuu, giving fans their first glimpse of the anime’s style.
Cast
The anime will feature newcomer Momo Harumi as Sakurako, marking her debut in a leading role. Meanwhile, Etsuko Kozakura, a seasoned voice actress known for her adorable and energetic roles, will bring MuuMuu to life.
