Level 5, the developers behind the upcoming RPG videogame Decapolice, have shared exciting updates during their online event “Level 5 Vision 2024 to the World’s Children.” They revealed a brand new trailer for the upcoming crime suspense RPG and announced that the game will also be adapted into a TV anime. Both the game and anime are now scheduled for release in 2026, following a delay. Originally planned for 2023, the game had been pushed to 2025, and now, another delay has shifted the release to 2026.
In addition to the new timeline, Level 5 also confirmed that Decapolice will now be available on PC via Steam, alongside its releases for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The trailer features the theme song “City of Love” by MARiA, from the band GARNiDELiA.
The Plot
The game centers around Harvard Marks, a rookie detective working in the Special Investigation Unit of Broadstone Police Center. The team uses an advanced simulator called Decasim, which can create a virtual world mirroring reality. However, the plot takes a dark twist when a mysterious hacker turns all the characters inside the Decasim world into puppets.
As players take on the role of Harvard Marks, they’ll solve crimes by investigating virtual crime scenes, collecting evidence, and determining the identity of the culprit. But it’s not just about solving puzzles—players may also have to confront these criminals in tactical operations. Some criminals can even manifest monstrous beings called Crime Beasts, which add a challenging layer to the gameplay.
Level 5 is a renowned Japanese video game developer and publisher best known for their Dark Cloud, Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven, Ni no Kuni, Yo-kai Watch, and Snack World franchises.
