Kathryn Mohr has just shared her cover of “Cut,” of which she comments: “It was the lyrics that immediately drew me into this song. The intimacy of a hair cut. The loss of a version of someone you knew as they turn themselves inside out to survive. It’s one of the saddest things in the world to me, watching someone harden and loose themselves to their pain.”
Your Voice is Not Enough, the heartfelt tribute to Low, is a project born out of a conversation with Planning For Burial’s Thom Wasluck and The Flenser. Inspired by the nuanced beauty of Low’s discography, what began as a discussion on ranking favorite albums blossomed into a collaborative effort that brought together our close-knit group of Flenser artists and friends. Regrettably, the compilation took shape before the tragic passing of Mimi Parker, and in honoring her legacy, they dedicate this album to her memory, celebrating the profound impact she left on the music world.
Set for release on May 24, 2024 on digital outlets, the tribute features eight cover songs by Flenser artists and friends: Cremation Lily, Holy Water, Midwife and Amulets, Allison Lorenzen, Kathryn Mohr, Planning for Burial, Drowse featuring Lula Asplund, and Have A Nice Life.
