So-Cal indie pop duo Sleep State have shared their sun-soaked, string-light patio staple “BEWARE!!!,” available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. The track comes after a five-year hiatus and are excited to keep putting out new music every 4-6 weeks into 2025. The track is about the very relevant and relatable process of accepting chaos in our everyday world and discovering that it’s okay to not be okay.
“Whether you’re overwhelmed by the mundane of work or fed up with the stressors accompanied by modern day politics, we’ve all been at a low point where we’re ‘barely feeling human; on the inside, despite our best efforts of trying to hide it on the outside,” says Troy Ritchie. “For me, this is a very cathartic song. When I’m enduring uncertain and miserable times, I’m still ‘hangin’ on’ with hope for better days. Singing out my internal dialogue and feelings through a catchy melody helps me feel human again and puts a lighter spin on what’s happening. I’ve definitely put myself through some dark times but I’m surrounding myself with great people and making notable changes to keep “steering clear of all the roads that I can’t come back from.”
